came into contact with Henri Nannen while still at school. Nannen, the celebrated German journalist and modern art collector who founded the Kunsthalle in Emden, sparked Rotermund's love affair with classical modern art. This set him on his future career path and motivated him to move to Hamburg to study literature and art history. Study trips to San Francisco and Munich followed. He graduated with a master's degree and worked on a number of freelance art projects. In 1997, he took up a post as expert for modern art at the international auction house Villa Grisebach in Berlin. Three years later he returned to Hamburg to set up a dealership, combining his enthusiasm for modern art with professional commitment. He started out as a specialist in classical modern works on paper and has since established his gallery Thole Rotermund Kunsthandel – as one of Europe's leading dealerships in modern art. The gallery enjoys contacts with a strong network of international clients as well as important international collectors, both private and institutional. In addition, Thole Rotermund is member of the board of the 'Bundesverband deutscher Galerien und Kunsthändler' (Association of German Galleries and Art Dealers).

Kerstin Peters

Kerstin Peters

grew up in the western outskirts of Hamburg. A chance encounter with the artist Horst Janssen in the early 1990s developed into a close friendship and it was his lively input that significantly deepened her interest in modern art.
After completing her training in publishing at the Axel Springer Verlag, she worked for a number of years in office management and team assistance. She then decided to branch out as a freelancer and spent the following 10 years working in PR and cultural management, three years of which included organising exhibitions, literary events and concerts for the municipality of Rellingen. But she did not neglect her own further education and obtained an academic qualification as a mature student, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in literary studies and Japanese studies at the age of forty-four. Her enthusiasm for the medium of paper springs from her appreciation and understanding of Japanese culture. She joined the team at Thole Rotermund Kunsthandel in February 2018, bringing a wealth of organisational skills and experience to the job of overseeing the entire back office.

Sandra Rademacher

Sandra Rademacher

already established for herself during her studies of art history, economics and American literature that she does not understand art as a singular phenomenon, but rather as an interplay of many different factors and which she loves to make perceptible. Her career is correspondingly diverse: after a commercial apprenticeship and her studies, Sandra Rademacher's path initially led her to contemporary art - and thus to intensely inspiring tasks. These include the realization of monumental installations, for example by Ilya Kabakov or Abdulnasser Gharem, at the art fairs in Cologne and Basel, among others for Galerie Karsten Greve in Cologne. Not only through these experiences Sandra Rademacher contributes an unconventional and also very modern view on classical art. After many years in Cologne and Berlin, the native Rhinelander has now settled with her family in the far north and has been responsible for gallery management, exhibition and project management as well as press and public relations at Thole Rotermund Kunsthandel since November 2021.
